Spent 3 days in the Casa el Eden, Quito, suffering a bit from jetlag and altitude sickness, but well looked after by Mario & Blanca. Left the parents to do the sightseeing: wondrous Jesuit church & processions of fire fighters

South to Los Mortinos, next to Cotopaxi: due to the August eruption & on-going rumblings, Pablo's hotel was operating illegally. But we survived & enjoyed it!

After Cotopaxi, we headed south to Banos

Somehow we missed the open top bus, but we did make it to the Panama Hat museum

Our 10 days here went by quickly, but we were on to Guayaquil, where our favourite boat, the Silver Explorer, was awaiting to take us down through

Peru & Chile to Ushuaia
