Off on our very own Create your own brew to the Spinoglio winery. For once the guide, Betty, was very good. The Spinoglio winery dates back to 1898; bought by the Spinoglio family in 1961, today the estate is run by the 4th generation of the family making wines in Uruguay.

We sat on a table with Ben, Cindy, Anike, Sylvain & Pippa to blend Tannat, Merlot and Cabernet Franc to our mutual liking. We then got a bottle (supposedly) of this wine to take home.: a nice idea as the padres later enjoyed our bottles in Moraira. We also enjoyed a sumptious plate of cheese, ham & nuts. |

BUENOS AIRES
Had to do the Evita tour: Don't cry for me Argentina! . Drove to the Casa Rosada. . Then to the Recoleto Cemetery to see the mausoleum of Evita Peron/Duarte . Then to the Eva Peron museum, which had been the home of the Eva Peron Foundation from 1945 to 1955, she died of cervical cancer in 1952 and then her husband was ousted from the Presidency in 1955, Peronism was then prohibited until 1970. Here we had a guided tour by an excellent guide followed by a talk, translated, by one one of the museum directors. . The Museum, where the story of her life unfolds through her personal objects, is housed in a mansion where her charity, the Eva Peron Foundation, once gave shelter to single mothers.

They changed the guard here at our request! Then in the Eva Peron museum we were allowed in the model of her car, although the room guardian got a bit edgy when we sat on the kitchen table! - & the food was not even edible! |
