A really poncy hotel. Looks like something from a film set The chambermaids always look after us We get ready for life guard duty There were all sorts of toys like this swing
The swing did not look dangerous enough to need a warning This one looked even safer Nice view of the beach The madre makes sure that we do not get sunburn
Meet our butler. We have just ordered a small snack. We can always order more if we get hungry Looks as if we might have to help her finish that Lunch on the beachfront. Note we are only allowed water
That is our butler serving us lunch in the restaurant Another snack please Mr Butler The madre has eaten herself to a standstill We say "goodbye" to the owner, and give him a few tips on hotel management.

On to Zanzibar where we meet the tour group

A middle of the market hotel, but it did have character We went to a Spice Garden, which did not overwhelm us And the food was too much on the healthy side Padres got into old doors here instead of the usual old stones
The took us here, we wonder if they are telling us something Not sure about this, we were not thinking of wearing one The Ranger failed to spot Pembroke riding on a tortoise Somerville could be about to become a tortoise's supper
We think we need to get out of here This is more like it - cocktail time And another cocktail hour The police were looking for us. One of these every mile

Then to Comoros. Sort of a land that time forgot

The madre managed to lock herself in the loo at the airport Our hotel was acceptable, without being grand Mind you the swimming pool was something else black slime A character we met on the streets of Moroni
This was where they sharpen their knives before sacrifices A new one for us - man in the market chopping up a horses head Pembroke organised a lobster barbecue on the beach and a healthy pudding
Then we enjoyed the fruits of our labours The local guide got us lost here, and we nearly never got home It was not worth the struggle to get there They seem a bit short of money - the road has disappeared
Them doors again ! Having considered it, we do not think we will be muslims As it turned out the muslims said they did not want us Although not as good a buns, coconut juice is refreshing
We found this little hut on a sandy beach We played hide and seek, where has she gone There she is, she was hiding We try our hand (unsuccessfully) at making Ylang Ylang perfume

And on to Mayotte, which oddly is part of France and in the EU

The plus point here was it was France and hence good buns ..pizza and non alcoholic cocktails Chairs for small bears We took a ferry to another island
Where we made more Ylang Ylang perfume It was really too hot for us to help make the salt We pose for a photo at the crater lake We are trying unsuccessfully to get her to cut back on booze

Reunion - also part of France and in EU. We are getting confused now, as we are in the middle of the Indian Ocean

Would you believe it - they call this Niagara A fancy church in the middle of nowhere An abandoned bridge 2 abandoned bears
A pint of fresh cane juice, please Miss Glad we were not here a few weeks ago, when the lava was .. ..fresh and pouring over the road We inspected some guns on the sea front
These fellows were promoting chocolates, but no samples A model of Roland Garros's plane Sunset with a cocktail Followed by (another) healthy breakfast

Rodrigues is part of Mauritius, but hundreds of miles from it It is very small

They decorated our bed for us We get close up and personal with (another) giant tortoise Helmets were handed out for a cave visit, none small enough for us A statue of the Rodrigues solitaire, related to the Dodo, it was typically taller, more slender. It is now also extinct
We are starting to get "over sandy beached" out And another one This looks fun, but we were told we were too small to try it The hotel manager invited us for cocktails, cos we could put him right on running a hotel

Mauritius. a British colony for 150 years, but where they only speak French today - confusing

Not much of a waterfall, but at least it has some water We think she may be trying to make a point here This was a bit undignified They would not let us have an ice cream here
Does not look like a good place for a swim They were celebrating their 59th wedding anniversary Back on life guard duty Having refused us an ice cream, they had one without us

Seychelles and home.

We ended at a really poncy hotel in the Seychelles. We did not have a butler, but it was never the less, very posh

We are confused, as we have never been here before The iconic clock tower in Victoria We meet the coco de mer. Looks a bit rude Biggest tortoise we have seen
We pour a cup of Ceylon tea in the Seychelles More stops at beaches Beaches, beaches everywhere. But at least a cooling beer allowed here Pasteis da Nata, thank you very much mister man.
Oh dear another beach She strides purposely down to the sea and straight back The swimming pool is clearly safer We admire the sun setting over Praslin. Holiday over, and with that it is goodbye from him, and goodbye from me.

After our final sunset in this holiday, we headed for the airport the next morning well before dawn had even thought about cracking. It two long days via Dubai to get back. Mr Trumps war was certainly messing up flight schedules

She cannot see us with a mask on. We can be bad Dubai in the mist - we don't want to go there again Emirates, a good airline, but better probably in Business Class
